That's fine, simonides, but if members don't support such initiatives (which take some time to organise - currently by me - and only 2 or so members, per month, bother to try the recipes and report back on them) then they will be shelved (because, evidently, the vast majority of members are not particularly interested in such initiatives).
If you're vegetarian, and therefore need to improvise, then please do so. At least you're still supporting the initiative....so I look forward to your vegetarian version soon (which other members, who are vegetarian, might also be interested in).....

Just had this along with 3 other curries.
It was unanimous with the family that this was the best curry of the evening. The only change I made was adding homemade chilli pickle made from Trinidad Scorpions, as we cannot get Mr Naga down here. In all honesty though, I am not keen on Mr. Naga.
I can’t compare it to a shop bought Pathia, as I have never had one. I have made several from recipes myself, and in all honesty this was the best one I’ve tasted. It will definitely be a regular on our menu from now on. A big fat 10/10 from my family.

Was not sure if that was hyperbole, if I should be very wary of an invite to eat with BI, or if they had joined the dark side.Homemade chilli pickle made from Trinidad Scorpions ...
Turns out that Trinidad Scorpions are a 500,000 Scofield chilli I hadn't heard of.

My wife brought 3 of these chillies home from work. Some guy who grew them at home brought them in, put them in a bowl in the kitchen with a sign saying “free.” My wife recognised them straight away and grabbed them for me, which could have saved some lesser educated person from having a little nibble to see what they tasted like.
These were actually more like 1.2 million Scovilles. A quarter teaspoon of the pickle I made warms things up nicely.

I made this tonight, following the recipe exactly. Turned out a very nice dish, nicely balanced sweet, sour and spice elements coming through. Thanks Steve for sharing the recipe.

@simonides, the dish in my photo is a veggie friendly pathia with paneer instead of meat

I made this tonight for my son and I. I couldn't find any Mr Naga but used Encona Original Hot Pepper Sauce which has scotchbonnet (yeah) and habanero peppers in it. It's from the wrong Indies, of course, but it does taste good and only £1 in Tesco in the UK at the moment.
Very tasty dish although I felt there was just a bit too much cumin. Probably because the pathias I remember from my youth (east coast of Scotland) were runny and had absolutely no “bits” in them. I'd make it again, though, just with less cumin seeds.

question mango chutney is that the same as mango pickle, as thats all i can find

Very different stuff dazk, mango chutney is very sweet, bright yellow in colour, mango pickle tastes very different (more like lime pickle to me) so not interchangeable (in my opinion) although you should be able to get hold of mango chutney fairly easily, it’s readily available in most supermarkets and even local shops. (In the uk, not so sure about Thailand).

If you can’t find mango chutney, just use sugar. As andrw says, mango pickle is completely different.

Lemon dressing, I believe is what some people call the lemon juice that usually comes in a bottle (such a jif) which is usually a lemon juice concentrate with additives (as far as I am aware).
